Here’s just a list of really interesting tools and ideas I’ve been exploring lately.
- Simplenote – Just like the name, simply syncs notes between your phone, computer and iPad. I use this for the majority of my notes, along with…
- NValt – A mac client for simplenote. Stays simple but has some really nice features.
- MakerBot Replicator – We are living in the future. We carry around light, fast screens, have wireless network access almost everywhere and now, we can download 3d objects. I can’t wait to get students printing 3D designs from SketchUp.
- TinkerCad – A great, web-based 3d modeling site for creating 3D printable designs. I can see 1st graders making and printing with TinkerCad.
- Speaking of living in the future, Encyclopedia Brittanica will no longer be printed. I’ll someday tell my grandkids what existed before Wikipedia.
- Evaluating the Educational Value of Apps a rubric for evaluating apps.
- How to record an iPad screen. Perfect for training videos.
- The Consumerization of IT.
- Thanks to Apple for explaining what the “Cloud” is.
- No one wants to learn how to program – They want to create something, not code.
- What impact has Microsoft Word had on the way we work? Do we shape technology or does it shape us?
- CubeStormer 2 – a lego Rubik’s Cube solver.
- The MLA now has a guide to cite a Tweet.
